What’s In Destiny 2’s Blank Chosen Roadmap Month?

What’s In Destiny 2’s Blank Chosen Roadmap Month?

Well, we have reached that point in a season of Destiny 2 where there’s a bit of a lull, at least according to what’s listed on the actual roadmap.

The last month of a given season is relatively light, most of the time, and in this case, up until Guardian Games starts on April 20, there’s barely anything listed for the interim. So what’s going to happen in that blank spot? Truly nothing? Or something secret? Let’s explore.

There are only two things listed on the roadmap over this period of time.

Tomorrow, the Proving Grounds strike opens up for all players, not just season pass holders, and I assume that means it’s being added to the Vanguard playlist (thank god). It will also be the Nightfall that week, so we can play a challenging version of it, rather than the rather breezy version we had when it debuted as a story quest. And it’s double rewards week, so that means your first shot at an adept Palindrome is actually two shots. Also, this can be a way to farm adept mods quickly if you don’t have them as the first double drop GM nightfall of the season.

Then after that, Iron Banner on April 13. These roadmaps will list random Iron Banner times when there’s empty space, but we’re currently in Iron Banner and it’s not exactly a monumental event.

So, what else?

Glykon – The one thing that we know we can continue to do is run Glykon at least once a week, every week. This will get us a new lore page that explores the twisted history of the ship and what Calus was up to there. I have a feeling there will be an “ending” to Glykon when we get all 12 lore pages and can open up all the caches onboard, with the last datapad being in the final room (I’m predicting a Calus/Crown reveal after that one). And yet this will not end during this “blank month.” There are six more lore pieces to go, so the “final” Glykon week should be May 4, right before the season ends.

Battlegrounds Quest – With the armistice forged with Caiatl, and the triumph for “doing all the seasonal story quests” unlocked, it does seem like we’re probably done with the weekly Battlegrounds quests and story developments. However, Caiatl is on the hunt for one of the two Psions that tried to assassinate Zavala, and we’re still ultimately trying to figure out who is behind this Psion-focused undermining of Caiatl. This seems to me like this should be something resolved this season, not next, so I do wonder if there could be developments on this front over the course of this next month.

Crow – I think we’re done with Crow for now, frankly. The last time we talked to him seemed like a pretty conclusive ending for his arc for this season at least. I do not believe we’re done with his whole arc, which I would expect to continue next season. I still maintain he’s on track for Hunter Vanguard, and then his sister Mara, is returning either before or during The Witch Queen, which has to intersect with his story, I’d imagine. But no, not expecting more from Crow in this blank month here.

In short, I would expect the game to chill out for the next few weeks and it’s probably going to be time to play catch up, farming for weapon drops and doing seasonal challenges you’ve missed and things like that. There could be some big, giant secret thing I cannot foresee at all, but given that we already had such a big secret mission in Glykon this season, I’m not really expecting that. After this, April 20 will bring us a revamped Guardian Games where you have to pledge a class and stick with it, and modified strikes with bonuses based on your chosen class. Heir Apparent returns, along with a new catalyst, and perhaps other surprises. More to come.
