Wisconsin OL transfer Kayden Lyles commits to Florida State

He is expected to play center at FSU and will have one year of eligibility.  Lyles plans to enroll in January.

Lyles, who announced his decision to transfer from Wisconsin in October, has starting experience at center and guard. He was initially a defensive end at Wisconsin, starting seven games as a redshirt freshman in 2018. The Wisconsin native moved to offensive line the following year and started 4 games while playing in 13 as a left guard. He then moved to center in 2020 and started 4 games there before a season-ending knee injury. He played in more than 100 snaps through four games this season, starting one contest at center, before entering the portal.

In his career Lyles started 16 games (four at guard, five at center, seven at defensive end) and appeared in 34.

His statement at the time of his decision to transfer:

With one year of college football left in my future, I’ve decided to bet on myself and will be transferring to a new program for my final season of eligibility. My five years as part of the Wisconsin football program have given me some of the best times of my life and experiences I’ll never forget. Though my time as a Badger has come to an end, I’ll forever be thankful to the fans, coaches, staff and — especially — to my teammates for all their support.

On, Wisconsin!

Lyles declined to comment on his commitment when contacted by Noles247.com.
