Former first lady Melania Trump announced a non-fungible token (NFT) initiative Wednesday, with part of the proceeds going to support children aging out of the foster care system.

Buyers can purchase Trump’s first NFT, called “Melania’s Vision” anytime before the end of this month. The NFT is a watercolor done by artist Marc-Antonie Coulon which “embodies Mrs. Trump’s cobalt blue eyes, providing the collector with an amulet to inspire,” according to the former first lady’s office.

The digital artwork is being sold for 1 unit of SOL cryptocurrency (just over $180) and includes an audio recording from Mrs. Trump.

“I am proud to announce my new NFT endeavor, which embodies my passion for the arts, and will support my ongoing commitment to children through my Be Best initiative,” Melania Trump said in a statement. “Through this new technology-based platform, we will provide children computer science skills, including programming and software development, to thrive after they age out of the foster community.”

Melania’s Vision and the other anticipated NFTs will be released regularly exclusively on MelaniaTrump.com. In addition to crypto, would-be collectors can purchase the digital files via a credit card.

The NFT platform is supported by Parler, a conservative social media service.

In January, the former first lady will hold an auction that will include digital artwork, physical artwork and a physical “one-of-a-kind accessory.”

NFTs have become increasingly popular as artists and others have turned to different ways to make income or invest during the coronavirus pandemic.

In November, Collins Dictionary named NFT “word of the year” after the acronym saw an approximate 11,000 percent increase in usage in the past year.

Online NFT traders have sold digital images of monkeys, dinosaurs, and penguins for thousands of dollars.

Even businesses have jumped on the trend. Late last month, AMC and Sony Pictures teamed up to offer NFTs to customers attending the AMC premiere of “Spider-Man: No Way Home”.

Trump’s NFT venture is her first major initiative since leaving the White House in January. During her time as first lady, Trump launched the Be Best campaign to focus on the well-being and online safety of children across the country.
